Job summary

Our Lady and St Kenelm RC School invites applications for a Level 3 Teaching Assistant. You will work closely with class teachers to support teaching, lead small-group interventions, and promote pupils' wellbeing in a Catholic school environment.

The role focuses on supporting learning in Key Stage 1, delivering planned activities, and assisting with planning, assessment, and resource preparation. You will help foster positive behaviour and strong relationships with pupils, staff and families.

Qualifications

  • Level 3 TA qualification or equivalent.
  • Experience supporting teaching in a primary school setting.
  • Ability to promote wellbeing and Catholic ethos.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with classroom organisation and administrative tasks as needed.
  • Build strong, positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents/carers.
  • Supervise children during breaks, lunchtimes, and school activities.

Job description

The Role

We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join our team. Working closely with the class teachers, you will play a key role in supporting teaching and learning, leading small group interventions, and promoting the wellbeing and spiritual growth of all children.

  • Support high-quality teaching and learning under the direction of the class teacher.

About You

The successful candidate will:


  • Hold a relevant Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).

  • Have proven experience of supporting teaching and learning in a primary school setting, ideally Key Stage 1.

  • Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Be flexible, proactive, and able to use initiative effectively.

  • Have high expectations of behaviour and learning, encouraging all children to achieve their potential.

  • Support and uphold the Catholic ethos and values of the school (being a practising Catholic is desirable but not essential).
