Job summary

East SILC in Leeds is seeking a Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join our team at John Jamieson on a 35‑hour week. You will work closely with our behaviour team to support interventions and learning across lessons, helping learners with autism, complex needs and SEND.

We value adaptable, resilient staff with good communication and teamwork, and all appointments require safeguarding checks and DBS clearance. Applicants from across Leeds are welcome.

Qualifications

  • Experience as a Level 3 Teaching Assistant delivering interventions and support for learners with diverse needs.
  • Able to support teaching and learning across lessons and adapt to different sites.

Responsibilities

  • Support with interventions and behaviour management as part of the teaching team.
  • Assist with delivery of teaching and learning activities to learners with autism and SEND.

The East SILC is a complex organisation which operates on a variety of sites to provide a range of outreach services across the city, including partnerships with primary and secondary providers, the city-wide Physical Difficulties and Medical Service including a moving and handling service, as well as the Medical Needs Teaching Service for Leeds.

We are looking an experienced,committedand enthusiastic Level 3 Teaching Assistantto join our growing team and help make a genuine, lasting difference to learners’ lives.We have a vacancy for a Level 3 Teaching Assistant for35 hours per weekat the East SILC, based at John Jamieson. We are wanting this appointment to work close with our behaviour team supporting with interventions and behaviour as well as supporting with teaching and learning . As with all appointments at the East SILC staff may be asked to work at any site within the organisation.

Our learners have a range of needs including autism, severe learning difficulties, hearing and visual impairments, physical difficulties, specific communication and language difficulties and associated social, emotional and mental health needs.

We require a skilledand resilientperson who is willing to learn, support teaching and learning and address the personal needs of our learners. You will need to be adaptable, a good communicatorand be able to work as part of our team.
