Job summary

The Crestwood School is seeking a Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join our supportive and ambitious team. This permanent, full-time role starts September 2026, with 37 hours per week during term time, in Grade 5, SCP 7-11.

You will work with teaching staff to support individual students and small groups, deliver tailored learning and pastoral support, and help create an inclusive environment while contributing to planned interventions. DBS checks and safeguarding will be part of the process.

Qualifications

  • Experience and enthusiasm for supporting diverse cohorts of pupils.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to inspire and engage students.
  • Enhanced DBS check with Children’s Barred List clearance (or equivalent).
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
  • Willingness to undertake required pre-employment checks.

Recruitment and Safeguarding

The Trust will carry out an online search on all shortlisted candidates to identify any incidents or concerns that are publicly available which may pose a safeguarding risk or bring the Trust into disrepute. All required pre‑employment checks will include an enhanced DBS check with Children’s Barred List information, identity checks, online checks, and verification of professional qualifications and references.

This role involves regulated activity and is therefore subject to:

  • Enhanced DBS Check including the Children’s Barred List.
  • Verification through the DfE’s Check a Teacher’s Record for applicable roles.
