Connex Education are recruiting for a Level 3 Qualified Teaching Assistant to support Early Years-aged pupils within a specialist SEND school in Newark. This role offers day-to-day work with long-term opportunities and both part-time and full-time hours.

Applicants must have the right to work in the UK and a Level 3 TA qualification. You will work closely with teaching staff to create a safe, engaging learning environment, supporting pupils with communication, social and emotional development,

About the Role

Connex Education are recruiting for a Level 3 Qualified Teaching Assistant to support Early Years-aged pupils within a specialist SEND school.

This is a rewarding opportunity for an experienced and nurturing Teaching Assistant who is passionate about supporting young children with additional needs. You will work closely with teaching staff to provide a safe, engaging and supportive learning environment, helping pupils develop their communication, social, emotional and educational skills.

The successful candidate will be patient, caring and proactive, with the ability to build strong relationships with young children and adapt their approach to meet individual needs. Experience working within an Early Years or SEND setting would be highly advantageous.

Role Responsibilities

• Supporting Early Years-aged pupils with their learning, development and individual needs.

• Providing one-to-one and small group support under the direction of the class teacher.

• Supporting pupils with communication, social and emotional development.

• Encouraging pupils to participate in learning, play and structured activities.

• Helping children develop their independence and confidence.

• Supporting positive behaviour and creating a calm, nurturing classroom environment.

• Assisting with personal care and day-to-day routines where required.

• Helping to prepare engaging learning resources and activities.

• Working closely with teachers and other staff to support individual learning and development plans.

• Providing consistent support to pupils who may have complex or additional needs.

• Promoting inclusion and ensuring every child is encouraged to achieve their individual potential.

The school is looking for a Level 3 Qualified Teaching Assistant who is caring, adaptable and committed to making a positive difference to the lives of young children.

Previous experience working within Early Years, SEND or a specialist educational setting would be highly advantageous. Candidates should be confident working as part of a wider team, able to follow individual support strategies and willing to provide practical and emotional support throughout the school day.

Person Specification

To be considered for this role candidates must have / be able to demonstrate:

• A L3 Teaching Assistant qualification and exceptional relatable experience of working as a Teaching Assistant.
• Experience of working as a teaching Assistant in a British curriculum school for a minimum of two terms.
• Full enhanced DBS certificate.
• Completion of the Connex Education Onboarding Process.
• The ability to show a genuine desire and passion for working as a teaching assistant.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong rapport building skills, with pupils and with co-workers.
• A minimum of 2 school-based references
