Job description

Pay Rate: Depending on Level of Qualification and Experience (to be discussed with the Manager)

The Nursery Nurse reports to the Manager and Deputy Manager.

Responsibilities include:

Adhering to Nursery Policies & Procedures, complying with the Children Act, Health and Safety legislation, and guidelines from Ofsted and the EYFS.

Maintaining confidentiality within the nursery.

Working collaboratively as part of a team.

Providing care and supervision tailored to children's physical, emotional, and intellectual needs.

Planning and preparing activities to meet individual needs, liaising with parents, and setting working targets to ensure effective communication within the nursery.

Promoting equal opportunities for all children, respecting their religious, racial, gender, disability, cultural, or linguistic backgrounds, and addressing any instances of racism or discrimination.

Keeping development records and observations.

Managing children's behaviour positively.

Ensuring the cleanliness, maintenance, and safety of playrooms and equipment.

Supervising and mentoring Nursery Assistants and Students.

Acting as a role model for staff and assisting new team members to integrate.

Recording and monitoring accident, incident, and risk assessments.

Supervising meals and mealtimes, including preparing bottles for babies when necessary.

Performing laundry duties.

Attending staff meetings as scheduled by the Nursery Manager and Deputy Manager.

Participating in parent evenings, publicity events, open weekends, and children's outings.

Performing any other duties relevant to the role as directed by the Deputy or Nursery Manager.
