Job summary

Qualifications

• A full and relevant Level 3 qualification in Childcare or Early Years.
• Strong understanding of the EYFS statutory framework.
• Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection responsibilities.
• Ability to provide safe, nurturing and developmentally appropriate childcare.
• Confident planning and delivering engaging learning experiences.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Providing high-quality care and early education for babies, toddlers and preschool children.
• Supporting children’s learning and development in line with the EYFS framework.
• Planning and delivering creative, age-appropriate learning experiences.
• Encouraging independence, confidence, curiosity and communication skills.
• Observing, assessing and recording children’s learning progress.
• Supporting children’s individual interests and learning needs.
• Acting as a key person for allocated group of children.
• Building secure, positive and nurturing relationships with children.
• Creating an inclusive environment that celebrates diversity.
• Supporting children with SEND.
• Maintaining a safe, clean, welcoming nursery environment.
• Promoting emotional wellbeing and positive behaviour.
• Supporting personal care routines and mealtimes.
• Encouraging outdoor learning and play-based learning.
• Building relationships with parents and carers, communicating progress.
