Job summary

Luma Education Recruitment is recruiting a Level 3 Nursery Practitioner for a term-time day nursery in west Leicester (LE3). The role leads the toddler room, plans activities around the EYFS and supports a small team, with parents updated on progress.

The position is permanent with a 6-month probation, hours 8:00am–4:00pm, Monday to Friday, during term time only, with potential extension to 5:00pm as numbers grow. £15 per hour pro rata.

Qualifications

• A full and relevant Level 3 Early Years qualification (essential).
• Experience in a nursery or early years setting, ideally with toddlers.
• Good working knowledge of the EYFS, observations and learning journals.
• Confidence leading a small team, or ready to take that step up.
• Paediatric First Aid (welcome but not essential).

Responsibilities

• Leading the toddler room day to day, setting routines and organising the room team.
• Planning and delivering play-based activities in line with the EYFS.
• Acting as key person, observing and recording each child's progress.
• Supporting children through mealtimes, nappy changing, toileting and sleep.
• Talking with parents at drop-off and collection and sharing updates.
• Keeping the room safe, clean and well set up, following safeguarding procedures.

Location: Leicester, Leicestershire (LE3)

Pay: £15 per hour (pro rata, term time)

Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 4:00pm, term time only

We are recruiting a Level 3 Nursery Practitioner for a term-time day nursery in west Leicester, on a permanent contract at £15 per hour. You will take the lead in the toddler room, planning activities around the EYFS, guiding a small room team and keeping parents up to date on how their child is getting on. The nursery opens Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 4:00pm during term time (with plans to move to 5:00pm as numbers grow), so your school holidays stay free. CPD is encouraged and staff receive a discount on childcare for their own children.

About the Nursery

A small, independent day nursery in the LE3 area of Leicester caring for babies, toddlers and pre-school children during term time. The setting is growing steadily and puts real weight on training its staff and giving them responsibility early.
