Job summary

Ellesmere College in Leicestershire is seeking a Level 2 SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils aged 4-19 with moderate to complex learning needs. This permanent role is 30 hours per week across term-time plus one week, with working hours Monday to Friday during core school days.

You will collaborate with teachers and other professionals, adapt methods to individual needs, and contribute to a supportive, inclusive learning environment that aims to help every learner thrive.

Qualifications

• Educated to GCSE level in Maths and English or equivalent (this must be evidenced).
• Experience with special needs is highly desirable.
• Commitment to inclusive education and student wellbeing.

Job description

You will work closely with students aged 4-19 who have a range of moderate to complex learning difficulties, including communication and interaction needs and complex autism. Your role will involve:

• Supporting students' learning and development in the classroom and beyond
• Adapting your approach to meet individual needs
• Working collaboratively with teachers and other professionals
• Helping students achieve their best possible outcomes
• Excellent interpersonal skills and a flexible, team-oriented mindset
• Educated to GCSE level in Math's and English or equivalent (this must be evidenced)
• A commitment to inclusive education and student wellbeing
• A desire to learn and grow in a supportive environment

Experience with special needs is highly desirable, as is knowledge of:

• Makaton
• PECS (Picture Exchange Communication System)
• Sensory-based approaches

£18,475 - £19,692 (Actual salary)
