Job summary

Abbey Mead Primary Academy in Leicester is seeking a Level 2 Teaching Assistant to join our Meadow Provision (Internal Alternative Provision). You will work with pupils with SEND, supporting learning in small groups and contributing to targeted interventions.

The role includes lunchtime supervision, safeguarding awareness, and teamwork with the Meadow staff. We value inclusive practices and a commitment to helping pupils make meaningful progress towards their individual outcomes.

• Awareness of National Curriculum and other learning programmes/techniques.
• Knowledge of the key factors that can affect the way pupils learn.
• Working with children of the relevant age to support their learning.
• Ability to apply knowledge and training into a practical classroom context.
• Awareness of safeguarding and child protection issues.
• Ability to deal sensitively with vulnerable pupils and their families.
• Be flexible and able to adapt to rapidly changing situations.
• Be able to work as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with SEND in Meadow Provision and deliver targeted interventions.
• Assist class teachers with learning activities and small-group work.
• Support lunchtime supervision as part of duties.
