Abbey Mead Primary Academy in Leicester is seeking a Level 2 Teaching Assistant for Meadow Provision (Internal Alternative Provision) to support pupils with SEND and inclusive practice.

You will work closely with classroom staff to deliver learning activities, monitor progress and assist in creating an accessible, nurturing environment for all learners within TMET’s family of schools.

Qualifications

• Awareness of National Curriculum and learning programmes (Essential)
• Knowledge of factors that affect how pupils learn (Essential)
• Experience supporting children in the relevant age range (Essential)
• Ability to apply knowledge in practical classroom context (Essential)
• Safeguarding and child protection awareness (Desirable)

At Abbey Mead Primary Academy, we are delighted to offer an exciting opportunity for a Level 2 Teaching Assistant to join our welcoming and dedicated team. The successful candidate will be based within our Meadow Provision (Internal Alternative Provision), working closely with pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). As such, experience of supporting children with SEND and a commitment to inclusive practice are highly desirable.

• Awareness of National Curriculum and other learning programmes/techniques. (Essential)
• Knowledge of the key factors that can affect the way pupils learn. (Essential)
• Working with children of the age which the post relates to, to support their learning. (Essential)
• Ability to apply knowledge and training confidently and competently into a practical classroom context. (Essential)
• Awareness of safeguarding and child protection issues. (Desirable)
• Ability to deal sensitivity with vulnerable pupils and their families.
• Be flexible and able to adapt to rapidly changing situations
• Be able to work as part of a team, The proposed start date is subject to satisfactory reference and an Enhanced DBS Disclosure check.
