Job summary

Gwenfro CP School is seeking a Level 2 Teaching Assistant to join our Resource Provision and support pupils with additional learning needs. You will work closely with the class teacher to deliver personalised learning, promote independence and well-being, and help pupils access the curriculum.

Qualifications

• Experience of supporting children with additional learning needs, including Autism or sensory processing difficulties.
• Understanding of teaching strategies to support learners with additional needs.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents.
• Proactive, patient and empathetic approach to supporting children.
• Ability to work as part of a team while using your own initiative.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one and small-group support to pupils with additional learning needs.
• Assist teachers with delivering personalised learning activities and adapt approaches.
• Support pupils with academic and non-academic activities to develop confidence and independence.
• Use positive behaviour support strategies to motivate and engage pupils.
• Help create a safe, inclusive and nurturing learning environment.
• Monitor pupils' progress and adjust support as required with the class teacher.
• Support sensory regulation activities and develop strategies for individual needs.
• Encourage positive relationships and pupil social-emotional development.
