Job summary

St John the Baptist Primary School is seeking a Level 2 Teaching Assistant to work across the school, from Nursery to Year 6, supporting teaching and learning and helping pupils thrive.

This role is NJC Grade F SCP 7-8, 32.5 hours, Term Time plus 5 days, temp until 31 August 2027, with salary £20165.14 – £20953.53. The successful candidate will promote an inclusive Christian ethos and build positive relationships with pupils, families and colleagues.

Qualifications

• Holds a Level 2 Early Years qualification (or equivalent).
• Experience supporting children in a primary school setting.
• Demonstrates patience, kindness and a nurturing approach.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils in accessing learning and achieving their full potential.
• Work with individuals and small groups to reinforce learning and deliver targeted interventions.
• Encourage pupils' independence, confidence and positive attitudes to learning.
• Support pupils with additional educational, emotional and physical needs.
• Assist teachers in delivering engaging lessons and adapting activities to meet pupils' needs.
• Promote the school's inclusive Christian ethos and contribute positively to wider school life.
