Job description

Level 2 Social Worker – Permanence and Adoption

Working pattern: Hybrid working; Hours: Full-time, 37 hours per week; Salary: £42,123 - £45,529; Contract: Permanent

At Nottingham City Children's Services, we're committed to helping social workers develop, thrive and progress throughout their careers.

Join our Permanence and Adoption Team

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Social Worker to join our passionate and committed Permanence and Adoption Team.

Working with children who have a plan of adoption, you'll be part of a motivated, highly skilled and knowledgeable team dedicated to achieving the very best outcomes for children and their future families. This is a rewarding role where you'll support children through one of the most important transitions in their lives, helping to secure stable, loving and permanent homes.

As a Level 2 Social Worker within Permanence and Adoption, you'll take responsibility for more complex cases with increasing autonomy and professional confidence. You'll play a key role in family finding and matching, supporting children and adoptive families throughout the adoption journey and providing ongoing support through to the final adoption hearing.

This is a busy and varied role that will see you working closely with children, adopters, colleagues and partner agencies. You'll use your assessment skills, professional judgement and relationship-based practice to help children achieve permanence and positive lifelong outcomes.

This is an exciting opportunity for qualified and registered social workers who have completed their ASYE and are looking to broaden their skills and deepen their expertise in permanence planning and adoption work. You'll further develop your risk assessment, analytical and court-related practice, while contributing to a culture of excellent social work.

Through reflective supervision, coaching and ongoing professional development, you'll be supported to strengthen your practice, grow your confidence and continue progressing your social work career within a service that values learning, development and professional excellence. You'll be joining a supportive team who are committed to sharing their knowledge and experience, helping you to develop and succeed.

Our career pathway recognises growing knowledge, experience and professional influence, while creating opportunities to make a meaningful difference to the lives of children, young people and families across the city and supporting your progression into more advanced social work and practice leadership roles.
