Job summary

eTeach UK Limited is seeking an experienced Level 1 Teaching Assistant to support a SEND resource provision in a KS1 setting in Nottingham. You will implement strategies from the SENDCo and professionals, assisting with academic, social and communication development for pupils with diverse needs.

You will work within a committed team, promoting inclusion and pupil independence, and may assist with personal care as required.

Qualifications

• Experience providing targeted support for pupils with SEND.
• Ability to implement strategies from the SENDCo and professionals.
• Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills.
• Good communication with pupils, parents and staff.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils' academic, social, emotional, and communication development.
• Promote inclusion and independence throughout the school day.
• Assist with personal care and dignity in line with pupil care plans.
• Support phonics sessions and small-group teaching in KS1.

Job description

The governors are seeking to appoint an experienced and creative Level 1 Teaching Assistant to support in a SEND resource provision classroom, as well as across Key Stage One.

The ideal candidate will:

• provide high-quality support for pupils with a range of special educational needs and disabilities
• support pupils' academic, social, emotional, communication, sensory and physical development
• implement agreed strategies, support plans and recommendations from the SENDCo and relevant professionals
• promote pupil independence, confidence, participation and inclusion throughout the school day
• support pupils with emotional regulation and positive behaviour using agreed approaches
• assist with personal care and individual care routines where required, maintaining pupils' dignity and safety
• have experience of teaching phonics sessionsbe able to work as part of a committed team
• be flexible and enthusiastic and able to use their own initiative
• place great importance on, and has high expectations of standards and behaviour
