Job description

Sewell Wallis is working with a well-established financial services business based in Rotherham, South Yorkshire, who are currently looking for a Lending Underwriter to join their team on a permanent basis due to growth.

Role Overview

In this Lending Underwriter role, you will assess and process high volumes of mortgage applications in a timely and accurate manner.

What will you be doing?

1. Assess and process full underwriting requirements of 1st and 2nd charge mortgage applications from brokers against pre-agreed criteria prior to submission to underwriting and completions.
2. Undertake DIPs and package 1st and 2nd charge mortgage applications from brokers against pre-agreed criteria before submission.
3. Verify the accuracy of information on the computer system and ensure it matches the application.
4. Update brokers within SLA's and respond to queries via telephone, email, and letter from brokers and customers.
5. Prioritize, organize, and implement, in coordination with the Manager, an appropriate workload to meet company expectations, providing management with update reports on case progression (e.g., Pending, Offers).
