Job summary

Merlin is recruiting for Leisure Operations Receptionists to join our Hotels team at Alton Towers Resort. You will welcome guests, handle admissions, bookings and payments, and support smooth guest journeys.

A flexible, energetic personality with a passion for customer service is essential. The role requires weekend and bank holiday availability, with training provided.

Qualifications

• Flexible attitude toward availability including weekends and bank holidays.
• Positive, energetic and welcoming attitude for guests.
• Passion for delivering exceptional customer service.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
• Previous experience on a busy reception desk is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Welcoming guests and creating a friendly first impression at the Waterpark and Golf attractions.
• Providing exceptional customer service and assisting guests with enquiries.
• Handling admissions, bookings, payments, and cash transactions accurately.
• Managing key handling procedures and ensuring security processes are followed.
• Working with colleagues to ensure seamless guest journeys across departments.
• Communicating important guest information to relevant teams promptly.
• Maintaining a clean, organised, and welcoming reception environment.
• Ensuring guests leave with a positive lasting impression of the resort.

Leisure Operations Receptionist

Location: Alton Towers Resort

Hours/Availability: Ideally applicants will be available 5 out of 7 days including weekends but applicants with limited availability will be considered.

• Welcoming guests and creating a friendly, professional first impression at our Waterpark and Golf attractions.
• Providing exceptional customer service and assisting guests with enquiries throughout their visit.
• Handling admissions, bookings, payments, and cash transactions accurately.
• Managing key handling procedures and ensuring security processes are followed.
• Working closely with colleagues and other departments to ensure seamless guest journeys.
• Communicating important guest information to the relevant teams in a timely manner.
• Maintaining a clean, organised, and welcoming reception environment.
• Ensuring every guest leaves with a positive lasting impression of the Alton Towers Resort.

Qualifications & Experience

• Have a flexible attitude towards availability as you will be required to work weekdays, weekends and bank holidays
• A positive, enthusiastic and energetic approach, with the ability to create a welcoming and friendly atmosphere for guests
• A genuine passion for delivering exceptional customer service
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
• Previous experience working on a busy reception desk is desirable
