Job summary

Delta Hotels by Marriott Breadsall Priory is seeking a dedicated cleaner to help maintain the leisure club to the highest standards. You will clean all areas, including the gym, studios, changing rooms and showers, ensuring they are spotless, safe and welcoming for members, guests and staff.

The role requires physical fitness, flexibility for early mornings, evenings, weekends and bank holidays, and a positive, proactive attitude.

Qualifications

• Previous cleaning experience is desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain all areas of the leisure club, including the gym/studio, changing rooms, showers, toilets.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum and polish floors as required.
• Clean and disinfect toilets, showers, sinks, lockers and other surfaces.
• Replenish toiletries, hand soap, toilet paper and towels.
• Empty bins and dispose of waste safely and correctly.
• Ensure cleaning equipment is used safely and stored securely.
• Follow health and safety procedures, including safe handling of cleaning chemicals.
• Identify and report maintenance issues, hazards or damaged equipment to the manager.
• Maintain high standards of hygiene in wet areas to prevent slips and infections.
• Respond promptly to cleaning requests from members and colleagues.
• Complete cleaning schedules and checklists to meet required standards.
• Maintain a professional, friendly attitude towards members and guests.
• Work as part of the leisure team to ensure smooth day-to-day operation.

Job description

To maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene and presentation throughout the leisure club, ensuring all facilities are clean, safe and welcoming for members, guests and staff. This is a physically demanding role and requires reasonable level of fitness.

Working Hours

The role may include early mornings, evenings, weekends and bank holidays, depending on the opening hours and operational needs of the leisure club.

Key Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain all areas of the leisure club, including the gym/studio, changing rooms, showers, toilets.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum and polish floors as required.
• Clean and disinfect toilets, showers, sinks, lockers, benches and other frequently touched surfaces.
• Replenish toiletries, hand soap, toilet paper, paper towels and other cleaning supplies.
• Empty bins and dispose of waste safely and correctly.
• Ensure all cleaning equipment and products are used safely and stored securely.
• Follow health and safety procedures, including the safe handling and storage of cleaning chemicals.
• Identify and report maintenance issues, hazards, spillages or damaged equipment to the appropriate manager.
