Rate of pay will be dependent on the National Minimum Wage age bracket.

Casual and regular hours are available. Our centres are open 7 days per week.

Our Leisure Attendants (lifeguards) play an important role in the smooth operation of the leisure centre. As a Leisure Attendant, your responsibilities include ensuring the safety of customers while supervising the swimming pool and its surrounds as a pool lifeguard. You will also undertake tasks such as routine checks, cleaning, and assisting with the preparation of events and activities, including assembly and dismantling of equipment.

Throughout your work, you will interact with customers in a warm and welcoming manner. You may be the first point of contact for customer issues, so it is important to represent LeisureSK professionally and efficiently, remaining calm in difficult situations, proactively addressing issues when possible, or reporting them to management.

Responsibilities include:

1. Undertaking general lifeguard duties to the standards defined in the National Pool Lifeguard Qualification, ensuring the poolside is never unattended.
2. Monitoring pool conditions such as water clarity and odour, and reporting issues to the Duty Manager.
3. Monitoring the number of swimmers and advising the Duty Manager if limits are exceeded or additional lifeguards are needed.
4. Complying with the Pool Safety Operating Procedure at all times.
5. Maintaining your NPLQ through regular training sessions.
6. Providing excellent customer care, handling minor problems, and reporting serious issues to the Duty Manager.
7. Ensuring the health and safety of customers at all times.
8. Understanding and following the Centre Emergency Procedures as detailed in the Health and Safety Manual.
9. Checking the safety of equipment and reporting any damages or malfunctions.
10. Assisting in the preparation and operation of events and activities, including assembly and dismantling of equipment.
11. Carrying out cleaning duties and maintaining tidy storage areas.
12. Handling and recording lost property according to company procedures.
13. Assisting with opening and closing of the centre each day.
14. Performing other tasks as requested by management.
