Job summary

North East Derbyshire District Council is seeking a vigilant supervisor to oversee swimming pools, changing and locker rooms, sports halls and squash courts. You will help swimmers in difficulty and ensure equipment is prepared and stored safely.

Candidates should be sport-minded, hold the RLSS UK National Pool Lifeguard 10th Edition Award; a formal coaching qualification is an advantage, with some teaching or coaching experience. Flexible hours include evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• RLSS Lifeguard qualification required.
• Coaching qualification is an advantage.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a team and on own initiative.
• Physically fit and able to perform lifting.

Responsibilities

• Supervise pools, changing rooms, sports halls and squash courts.

Job description

The successful candidate will supervise swimming pools, changing/locker rooms, sports halls and squash courts. Other duties include assisting swimmers in difficulty, setting out and storing equipment as needed and promoting the centres activities and events.
Candidates must be sports orientated, have a good understanding of a wide range of sports and activities and must hold the RLSS UK National Pool Lifeguard 10 th Edition Award. A formal coaching qualification, together with some teaching or coaching experience would be an advantage. Although the working hours include evenings & weekends, we are particularly interested in hearing from applicants who are also available daytime Monday to Friday. To be successful you will need:

• RLSS UK National Pool Lifeguard 10 th Edition Award
• The ability to deal with a full age range of customers.
• A good understanding of a wide range of sports & leisure activities.
• To be physically fit & capable of heavy lifting.
• Experience of working in a team and acting on own initiative.
