Job summary

Away Resorts is seeking a friendly Leisure Assistant at Piperdam Leisure Resort near Dundee. You’ll be the go‑to person by the poolside and gym, ensuring guest safety, keeping areas clean, and helping deliver memorable experiences for our holiday guests.

This role requires weekend and some bank holiday work, and will involve a DBS check if shortlisted. We offer training, opportunities to progress, and involvement in our Attentive Amazing Lovers promise.

Qualifications

• Previous experience and a passion for working in a gym or pool.
• A valid National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPNQ).
• Fantastic interpersonal skills – you’ll need to be assertive as well as friendly.
• Be naturally vigilant and helpful – guests come first, so you need to be alert to their needs and safety.

Responsibilities

• Be the go‑to person at the poolside and gym, ensuring safety and guest satisfaction.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene, and ensure compliance with legal requirements.
• Oversee daily operational duties related to gym and pool activities.
• Answer guests’ questions and help ensure everyone has a great time.
• Work some weekends and bank holidays as holidays times require.

Location: Piperdam Leisure Resort, Dundee, DD2 5LP, Nr Birkhill

Hours: Variable Hours - some evenings & weekends required

Salary: £12.71 per hour - paid weekly!

What you'll be doing

Working as part of our team of holiday heroes, you will be the go-to person at the poolside and gym. You will look after everyone's safety, keep the whole area clean and hygienic and make sure that we're meeting our legal requirements. As a leisure assistant you will be responsible for the daily operational duties and performance of the gym and pool related activities.

You will be incredibly friendly, answering guests' questions and making sure that everyone is having a great time..

One more thing...holidays happen at holiday times, so you will need to work your magic on weekends and bank holidays too.

Skills, experience and qualities you'll need.

There's lots of training on offer but you will need:

• Previous experience and a passion for working in a gym or pool

• Exercise to music Experience
• Gym related qualification to a level 2 or higher
• Les Mills qualification
• Pool plant operators certificate
