Job summary

Oldham Active is recruiting Apprentices to start in November 2026. You will earn while you learn and gain a range of leisure-related qualifications to kickstart a career in a fast-paced industry.

You’ll be assigned a dedicated mentor, training includes First Aid at Work, Gym Instruction, Pool Lifeguard and Swim Teaching, plus in-house development. Multiple hours with evening/weekend work; DBS check required.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years old at time of examination.
• Be able to swim 100 metres front and back.
• Be able to swim 50 metres in 1 minute.
• Be able to surface dive and recover an object from the deepest part of the pool.
• DBS check is a requirement.

Responsibilities

• Support the everyday running of the facility.
• Deliver high quality service to customers.
• Work across departments with occasional location changes.
• Assist with water tests and safety procedures.
