Job summary

AMI Consulting is seeking a Legionella Consultant for its expanding consultancy team. The role is home-based with UK travel, working across commercial, industrial, healthcare, education, and high-risk sites nationwide.

You will carry out Legionella Risk Assessments to guidance, produce detailed reports with actionable recommendations, and develop specialist knowledge through training in Cooling Tower and Pseudomonas risk assessments. A driving licence and willingness to travel are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years' experience carrying out Legionella Risk Assessments.
• Experience assessing a broad range of commercial and industrial properties.
• Degree qualified in Science, Environmental, Engineering, or similar preferred.
• Excellent report writing and technical documentation skills.
• Strong communication and client-facing skills.
• Stable employment history demonstrating commitment and reliability.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Willingness to travel throughout the UK and stay away from home approximately 4–5 nights per month.

Responsibilities

• Carry out Legionella Risk Assessments in accordance with ACoP L8, HSG274, and BS 8580 guidance.
• Produce detailed, high-quality risk assessment reports with practical recommendations.
• Conduct surveys of domestic hot and cold water systems across a wide variety of premises.
• Build strong relationships with clients, providing professional technical advice and guidance.
• Work closely with senior consultants while undertaking specialist training in Cooling Tower Risk Assessments and Pseudomonas aeruginosa Risk Assessments.
• Maintain accurate electronic reports and supporting documentation.
• Keep up to date with current legislation, guidance, and industry best practice.
• Represent the company professionally on client sites at all times.
