Thinking Search in London is seeking an experienced Client Legal Operations Manager to own the operations of a major global client account. You will combine client operations, commercial and financial management, data analysis and project delivery to improve performance and support growth.

You will work with senior stakeholders across Finance, Pricing, Project Management and Operations to diagnose issues, design solutions and drive adoption.

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Client Legal Operations Manager to join a leading global professional services firm in London.

This is a high-impact role supporting one of the organisation’s largest and most strategically important global client accounts. The position combines client operations, commercial and financial management, data analysis, project delivery and process improvement.

This is not a traditional Client Account Management or Business Development position. You will take ownership of how a complex client account operates, identifying issues and inefficiencies, using data to understand their root causes and designing and implementing solutions that improve performance and support growth.

Role

You will become an operational subject matter expert for your client account, working closely with senior stakeholders and teams across the business.

Responsibilities include:

• Managing the operational infrastructure supporting a complex global client account.
• Working hands-on with large, raw datasets, extracting, cleansing and reconciling information to provide meaningful insight.
• Reviewing existing processes, identifying root causes and designing improved ways of working.
• Leading process improvements from initial diagnosis and design through to implementation, adoption and ongoing refinement.
• Supporting financial management including budgeting, forecasting, WIP, billing, allocations and variance analysis.
• Monitoring portfolio performance and identifying operational and commercial risks.
• Developing reporting, dashboards, trackers and management information.
• Managing projects and workstreams across multiple teams and jurisdictions.
• Working closely with senior stakeholders to resolve complex operational and commercial issues.
• Improving account governance, controls and reporting processes.
• Supporting initiatives to improve client service, efficiency, profitability and growth.
• Working collaboratively across Finance, Pricing, Project Management, Operations, Technology and Business Development.

Candidate Requirements

• Experience within client operations, legal operations, project/programme management, consulting, professional services or another complex delivery environment.
• Strong hands-on experience working with large, complex and imperfect datasets, including data cleansing, reconciliation and analysis.
• Strong Excel and analytical skills.
• Proven experience reviewing, designing and implementing process improvements through to adoption.
• Commercial and financial management experience, ideally including budgeting, forecasting, WIP, billing or performance analysis.
• Experience managing complex projects or programmes involving multiple stakeholders.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify issues and develop practical solutions.
• Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills, including confidence working with senior stakeholders.
• Comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
• Legal or professional services experience would be beneficial but is not essential, with candidates from Big Four and consultancy backgrounds also encouraged to apply.
• Financial Services experience would be advantageous for one of the positions but is not essential.
