About Our Client

Our client is the owner/operator of electricity transmission infrastructure, playing a vital role in the UK and EU's energy ecosystem.

Job Description

Your primary objective is to support the business through the development and negotiation of key contracts to minimize risk and maximize value efficiently. You will interact with industry regulators, governments, the European Commission, industry associations, suppliers, shareholders, other energy companies, and law firms. Responsibilities include:

  • Coordinating legal aspects of project development: lease negotiations, transmission/local network connection agreements, fuel supply agreements, equipment procurement agreements, energy off-take agreements, construction management agreements, PPAs, legal structuring, and negotiations with clients;
  • Managing legal aspects of financing, joint ventures, and acquisitions: negotiating, drafting, and reviewing documents; instructing external solicitors and advisors; reviewing their work; and responding to due diligence questions.
The Successful Applicant

The ideal candidate will be a qualified lawyer with at least 5 years of experience as a legal counsel within a large company or law firm. Experience in utilities/power or construction/civil engineering sectors is highly desirable.
