An opportunity for an experienced Solicitor to join a non-departmental public body (NDPB) which funds projects and activities that transform communities. This is a 12-month fixed-term maternity cover contract for the role of Legal Manager.
As the Legal Manager, you will report to the Head of Legal Services and will be responsible for managing a team of 5 individuals. Your responsibilities include overseeing compliance processes, legal policies, legal projects, procurement, and risk strategies. You will focus on legal projects with higher value, risk, and complexity, as well as building relationships with leaders across the organisation and external stakeholders including Government and other NDPBs.
To be considered, you should be a UK qualified solicitor, barrister, or equivalent with at least seven years’ relevant experience. Previous experience managing a team, along with excellent commercial acumen and negotiation skills, is required. Experience working for a similar public body and/or within the public sector is highly desirable.
Successful candidates will receive a competitive salary, a generous holiday allowance, and a civil service pension scheme. The organisation operates a hybrid working policy with a few days a month in the office.
