Job Description:

An opportunity for an experienced Solicitor to join a non-departmental public body (NDPB) which funds projects and activities that transform communities. This is a 12-month fixed term maternity cover contract, for the role of Legal Manager.

As the Legal Manager, you’ll report to the Head of Legal Services and will be responsible for managing a team of 5 individuals. Your day to day will involve overseeing compliance processes, legal policies, legal projects, procurement, and risk strategies. You will focus on legal projects with higher value, risk and complexity as well as building relationships with leaders across the organisation and external stakeholders including Government and other NDPBs.

To be considered, you will be a UK qualified solicitor, barrister or equivalent with at least seven years’ relevant experience. You should have previous experience of managing a team and have excellent commercial acumen and negotiation skills. Experience of working for a similar public body and/or experience within the public sector is highly desirable.

Successful candidates will receive a competitive salary, generous holiday allowance and a civil service pension scheme. They operate a hybrid working policy with a few days a month in the office.
