A leading organization in Exeter is seeking an experienced Legal Manager for a 12-month maternity cover contract. The role involves overseeing compliance, managing a team, and handling complex legal projects, with hybrid working options available. An opportunity for an experienced Solicitor to join a non-departmental public body (NDPB) which funds projects and activities that transform communities. This is a 12-month fixed-term maternity cover contract for the role of Legal Manager.
As the Legal Manager, you will report to the Head of Legal Services and manage a team of 5. Your responsibilities include overseeing compliance processes, legal policies, legal projects, procurement, and risk strategies. You will handle high-value, high-risk, and complex legal projects, and build relationships with organizational leaders and external stakeholders, including Government and other NDPBs.
Candidates must be UK qualified solicitors, barristers, or equivalent, with at least seven years of relevant experience. Prior experience managing a team, strong commercial acumen, and negotiation skills are essential. Experience working for a similar public body or within the public sector is highly desirable.
