Job summary

The Bicester Collection in Bicester is seeking a Legal Manager (Maternity Cover) to provide pragmatic legal support to our central marketing and commercial teams across Europe, focusing on marketing, PR and commercial agreements.

This role is predominantly non-contentious, advising on MSAs, NDAs, DPAs, licensing and data use while supporting technology contracts and AI risk assessment. Location: Bicester Village; minimum two days in the office.

Qualifications

• Qualified lawyer in the local jurisdiction or equivalent qualification.
• At least three years post-qualification experience in marketing and commercial contracting.
• Cross-border capability with multi-jurisdiction matters and local teams/external advisers.
• Proven IP experience, including trademark licensing and rights clearances.
• Strong contracting skills across agency, sponsorship and technology agreements.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal support to central marketing and commercial stakeholders across Europe.
• Draft and negotiate MSAs, SOWs, NDAs and DPAs; advise on licensing and data use.
• Assess AI/data risks and advise on content licensing and third-party content.
• Support technology contracts (SaaS, cloud) and supplier exits.
• Develop templates, playbooks and fast-track routes for legal support.

Supporting our 9 European Villages, our central Legal team is hiring aLegal Manager (Maternity Cover).

The role

You'll provide pragmatic, solution-driven legal support to our central marketing team and other commercial stakeholders across our European portfolio, helping ambitious, digitally enabled marketing, tourism, partnership and customer initiatives move at pace while protecting commercial value.

This is a predominantly non-contentious role, covering marketing, PR and commercial agreements, digital and social media advice, rights clearance and early-stage contractual issues. It is primarily marketing-focused, and while you'll support technology contracting too, you don't need deep technology law expertise, just a willingness to learn.

Location:Bicester Village (a minimum of two days per week in the office)

What you'll be doing

A few of the key responsibilities in this role:

Marketing, communications and tourism advice: Advising Central teams on campaigns, partnerships, sponsorship, influencer and event agreements, promotional terms and advertising regulation across multiple European jurisdictions

Digital, social and data-enabled marketing: Supporting social media activations, apps and gamification, and assessing the legal risks of new marketing technologies, data use and third-party content

Technology and AI support: Drafting and negotiating SaaS, cloud and managed services agreements, advising on emerging AI risks, and managing technology-related disputes and supplier exits

Commercial contracting and legal governance: Negotiating MSAs, SOWs, NDAs and DPAs, and developing the templates, playbooks and approval routes that make legal support faster and more consistent

What we’re looking for

Qualified lawyer in the relevant local jurisdiction, or equivalent recognised professional qualification.

At least three years post-qualification experience, or equivalent, with strong in-house or private-practice experience in marketing and commercial contracting

Cross boarder capability with confidence managing multi-jurisdictional matters and working effectively with local legal teams and external advisers

Proven intellectual property experience, including trademark licensing, image rights, content licensing and rights clearances

Strong commercial contracting skills, from agency, sponsorship and partnership agreements to supplier and technology contracts

A practical, commercially minded approach, translating complex legal issues into clear business choices
