Graff Search in London is seeking a senior solicitor to join as the Sole Lawyer and Group Legal Counsel. You will lead the legal function, work closely with senior management, and manage all legal matters for the business, from corporate governance to commercial negotiations and regulatory issues.

The role suits a commercially minded individual with FMCG/retail consumer experience, rolling up sleeves for a growing brand. It is a hands-on in-house position based in a central London office.

Qualifications

• Broad commercial background with emphasis on FMCG/retail/consumer sectors.
• Experience advising or working with in-house clients is useful.
• Strong ability to lead negotiations and provide strategic legal guidance.

The Opportunity

The company now has a need for a senior lawyer to join the business as the Sole Lawyer for the company. As Group Legal Counsel, you will work closely with senior management and manage all legal matters for the business.

The opportunity will suit an individual with a commercial background ideally in FMCG, retail or consumer sectors who is looking to work closely with a business and, as the sole in-house lawyer, lead the legal function for the business.

The work will range from corporate and commercial contractual negotiations to corporate governance, risk management and stakeholder advisory matters. You will also oversee IP, marketing, regulatory matters (packaging, etc) as well supply chain and distribution.

Given the hands on nature of the work and the relationships needed to be developed, the role will mostly be 5 days in the company's (very nice!) Central London office.

About You

A broad general commercial background is key, with any experience of having worked with or advised clients in the FMCG, retail or consumer sectors being useful. A keen interest in brands and an interest in working for a growing and agile brands business, rolling your sleeves up and really getting behind the brands is key.
