Description

Legal Counsel, Rights & Content is a role within the DAZN Rights & Content Legal Team, based out of our Hammersmith office with a flexible approach to home and office working. This role supports the busy Rights & Content team of this dynamic and exciting global sports media business.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a junior to mid-level Media Rights lawyer to join DAZN, one of the most exciting and rapidly growing businesses in the sports industry, potentially as a first in-house role.

The role is within the central DAZN Legal Team based in our Hammersmith office, supporting the Rights & Content team.

The Rights & Content business manages a large portfolio of sports rights worldwide and recently acquired the global rights to the inaugural FIFA Club World Cup in the USA this summer.

As this division grows, it offers a great opportunity to get involved in international projects, be an integral team member, and develop the role to make it your own.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive legal support to the Rights & Content team, including:
• Negotiating and drafting contracts such as sports rights acquisition agreements, sublicensing agreements, and talent/influencer agreements
• Assisting with tender reviews and bid preparations for media rights of premium sports properties
• Supporting business stakeholders on strategic rights partnerships and global media rights strategies
• Advising on daily queries related to media rights
• Collaborating with wider legal teams on projects in corporate, technology, new markets, and IP areas
• Managing external legal counsel as needed

Candidate Profile:

• 2-4 years PQE, with experience in commercial/media/sports legal teams, either private practice or in-house (personality and cultural fit also considered)
• Experience with sports rights acquisition, OTT platforms, broadcasting, and the TMT sector
• Excellent legal drafting and interpretative skills
• Understanding of the sports rights industry and DAZN's competitive landscape
