You will report into the Regional General Counsel – EMEA and be part of a broader well-established global legal function (with lawyers in several countries across the business) and a key business partner to various stakeholders in the EMEA region.

This is a rare opportunity to join the EMEA regional legal team based in London and support the Group’s expanding needs across the region.

About the role:

As Legal Counsel for the EMEA region, you will work in a fast-paced and varied environment, engaging with multiple FCTG brands. You will have direct access to key decision-makers, helping you develop a commercially focused legal perspective.

The main responsibilities include:

  1. Commercial Contracting: Drafting and negotiating client contracts, supply agreements, NDAs, term sheets, and other legal documents with clients and suppliers, including managing contract review tools.
  2. Travel Law/Regulations: Advising on travel-related legal matters such as Package Travel Regulations, ATOL, and IATA guidelines, in collaboration with Risk and Compliance teams.
  3. Competition and Consumer Law: Drafting terms and conditions for consumer brands and advising on related legal issues, including marketing reviews.
  4. Corporate and Company Secretarial: Assisting with corporate governance activities, drafting corporate documents, and managing filings with Companies House.
  5. Litigation and Advice: Providing legal advice on disputes, negotiating settlements, and instructing external counsel when necessary.
  6. Data Protection and Privacy: Supporting data privacy initiatives, handling data breaches, and drafting contractual protections.
  7. Employment Law: Assisting HR with employment law queries, including intellectual property rights, TUPE, and equality issues.
  8. Process Improvement: Developing precedents, contract playbooks, and training teams on legal documentation.
  9. Reorganisations and Amalgamations: Drafting related corporate documents and managing intra-group processes.

Key Competencies, Skills, and Qualifications:

  • Qualified lawyer with 0-3 years of experience.
  • Experience in commercial contracting, ideally from a reputable law firm or in-house, with familiarity across other workstreams listed.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Commercially savvy, pragmatic, and problem-solving skills.
  • Degree and practicing certificate required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Qualified in England and Wales preferred; candidates from other common law jurisdictions considered.
  • Travel law experience is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Experience in M&A, Corporate, Finance, or Competition law from private practice is a plus.
