LEGAL COUNSEL, CONTENT LEGAL & COMPLIANCE - BROADCASTING INDUSTRY, London

Our global entertainment client, comprising many of the world’s most popular multimedia and entertainment brands, is seeking a Legal Counsel to join the Content Legal & Compliance team in London for an internal secondment.

Position Details:

  • Contract: 1 Year FTC - Start ASAP
  • Location: London / Hybrid

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide legal and regulatory advice on programme and online content, including defamation, contempt, privacy, data protection, and intellectual property issues.
  • Analyze risks associated with production and publication, including potential regulatory sanctions and legal liabilities.
  • Collaborate with the Business & Legal Affairs team and UK business to adhere to governance protocols and seek guidance when needed.
  • Advise on regulatory issues such as child protection, contributor duty of care, commercial references, and election broadcasting.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Qualified media regulatory lawyer (solicitor or barrister).
  • Experience advising on the Ofcom Broadcasting Code, privacy, defamation, and contempt.
  • In-depth understanding of media law, regulation, and compliance related to content creation and publication in broadcasting.
