Job summary

Hamilton Search Limited is partnering with a fast-scaling proptech business to hire a Legal Counsel for a growing team. The role covers acquisitions, fundraising, commercial contracts, product development, data, employment and operations.

Ideal candidates have 2–6 years PQE with a leading law firm; in-house tech or high-growth experience is a plus. Strong commercial judgement, initiative and the ability to handle a broad remit are essential; M&A experience is useful and an interest in AI is

Qualifications

• Approximately 2–6 years’ PQE (as a guideline) with a background at a leading law firm.
• Some in-house experience, preferably within a technology or high-growth business, although lawyers with other relevant commercial experience will also be considered.
• Sound commercial judgement, initiative and the ability to work across a varied remit as priorities change.

Responsibilities

• Cover acquisitions, fundraising, commercial contracts, product development, data, employment and operational matters.
• Work as part of a small legal team in a high-growth environment.
• Contribute to strategic decisions with a commercial edge and regulatory awareness.

We have been exclusively instructed by a fast-scaling, AI-enabled proptech business to hire a Legal Counsel to join the growing legal team. This is a very exciting time for this highly acquisitive, tier-1 VC backed business.

This is a high-impact broad legal role, working as part of a small legal team covering acquisitions, fundraising, commercial contracts, product development, data, employment and operational matters.

The successful candidate is likely to have:

• Approximately 2–6 years’ PQE (as a guideline) with a background at a leading law firm.
• Some in-house experience, preferably within a technology or high-growth business, although lawyers with other relevant commercial experience will also be considered.
• Sound commercial judgement, initiative and the ability to work across a varied remit as priorities change.

Previous M&A experience would be useful, but strong commercially-minded lawyers willing to develop their skillset are also welcome. An interest in AI and improving how legal work is delivered would be advantageous.
