Job summary

Beacon Legal is seeking a commercially minded Legal Counsel to join its in-house team in the UK. This broad, hands-on role covers structured finance, derivatives, trading and general commercial work, with exposure to senior stakeholders and fast-moving projects.

You will draft and negotiate complex agreements, support financing transactions from structuring to execution, and contribute to processes and playbooks as the business grows.

Qualifications

• England and Wales qualified solicitor with ~2–3 years’ PQE.
• Experience at top-tier law firm in structured finance, derivatives, banking & finance.
• Hands-on derivatives experience including ISDA or market-standard docs.
• Strong drafting skills and ability to engage with senior stakeholders.
• Interest in moving in-house and owning broad legal remit.

A growing international business is seeking a commercially minded Legal Counsel to join its in-house legal team.

This is a broad and hands-on role, offering exposure to structured finance, trading, derivatives and wider commercial work. You will work closely with senior stakeholders, providing practical and commercially focused legal advice in a fast-moving environment.

What you will do

• Draft, review and negotiate a range of structured finance, derivatives, trading and commercial agreements.
• Support financing transactions and strategic projects, from structuring through to execution and ongoing contractual matters.
• Advise on derivatives and trading documentation, including ISDA documentation where relevant.
• Provide clear advice on contractual rights, risk allocation and practical dispute avoidance.
• Work closely with commercial, finance, risk and operational stakeholders.
• Help develop legal processes, templates and playbooks as the business continues to grow.

About you

• England and Wales qualified solicitor with around 2 to 3 years’ PQE.
• Strong training and experience at a top-tier law firm, ideally in structured finance, derivatives, banking and finance, structured products or a closely related practice.
• Hands-on derivatives experience would be particularly attractive, including ISDA or comparable market-standard documentation.
• Strong drafting skills, sound commercial judgement and confidence dealing directly with senior stakeholders.
• Genuinely interested in moving in-house and taking ownership of a broad, business-facing legal remit.
