What is Decentralized Masters?
Decentralized Masters is an educational platform that teaches retail customers how to leverage the new world of Decentralized Finance to preserve and grow their capital. We give people the weapons to take back control over their financial future. By leveraging DeFi, we allow them to multiply their capital before it's eaten by inflation and thrive in these uncertain times. We train customers with no prior crypto experience to become DeFi Masters with our custom made videos, live sessions, 1on1s with mentors, proprietary tools, research reports from our analysts and more. We want to create the biggest DeFi ecosystem that exists. The first step is to invade the market by creating the go-to DeFi educational platform.

Decentralized Masters has now grown to 80+ full-time employees in early 2024 and will end the year at 120+ full-time employees. Its record-breaking growth is being noticed across continents, with a potential unicorn status in the next couple of years. It is a bootstrapped & profitable company targeting $50m in revenue in 2024.

We are seeking an experienced Legal Counsel to join Decentralized Masters, a leading educational platform empowering retail customers in the realm of Decentralized Finance (DeFi). As a key member of our dynamic team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring legal compliance across various facets of our rapidly growing company. The ideal candidate will have expertise in crypto, FTC regulations, compliance, sales processes, and marketing, with a passion for contributing to the creation of the largest DeFi ecosystem.

What will you be doing?

1. Comprehensive Audit:
   • Conduct thorough audits of marketing materials, sales processes, calls, recordings, scripts, product documentation, and other relevant materials within the context of our DeFi educational platform.
   • Identify and address legal risks, ensuring alignment with our mission and industry regulations.
2. Marketing Compliance:
   • Oversee compliance of marketing materials with applicable laws and regulations, reflecting the ethos of Decentralized Masters.
   • Review and approve content, including videos and materials, ensuring they align with our vision of empowering individuals through DeFi.
3. Sales Process Oversight:
   • Monitor and review sales processes, calls, recordings, and scripts, ensuring they adhere to legal requirements while promoting our educational mission.
   • Collaborate with the sales team to provide legal guidance tailored to our DeFi-centric approach.
4. Product Documentation:
   • Review and approve product documents, recordings, scripts, and other materials, aligning them with both legal standards and the unique objectives of Decentralized Masters.
   • Collaborate closely with the product development team to address legal considerations within the DeFi context.
5. Compliance Support:
   • Serve as the central point of contact for any compliance-related queries across departments, fostering a culture of legal diligence.
   • Stay abreast of changes in crypto and DeFi regulations, providing timely updates and guidance to the organization.
6. Collaboration with Department Leaders:
   • Work collaboratively with department leaders to integrate legal considerations into their strategies, fostering a compliance-first mindset.
   • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure legal alignment with our ambitious goals in the DeFi space.

Requirements

What will you bring?

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Legal Counsel, with a focus on crypto, FTC regulations, compliance, and marketing.
• Strong understanding of cryptocurrency laws and regulations, particularly within the DeFi landscape.
• Proven experience in conducting comprehensive audits in a dynamic, fast-growing organization.
• Familiarity with FTC regulations and a track record of ensuring compliance in marketing and sales activities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to adapt legal guidance to the unique context of DeFi education.
• Ability to thrive in a high-growth, entrepreneurial environment.
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
