Job summary

ICE Clear Europe Limited in London seeks a qualified lawyer to join the London Legal Department, supporting ICE Futures Europe, ICE Futures Abu Dhabi, and ICE Clear Europe. You will contribute to regulatory, treasury, membership, finance, and product development activities.

You will assist in negotiating and drafting contracts, perform regulatory analysis, participate in product launches, and help with data protection projects within UK and cross‑jurisdictional teams.

Qualifications

• Regulatory analysis across matters.
• Independently handle routine legal matters.
• Experience with MiFID/EMIR/REMIT is desirable.
• In-house regulatory advisory experience is desirable.
• Derivatives industry experience is desirable.

Job description

Job Purpose

A qualified lawyer is sought to join the London Legal Department which supports a wide range of entities and areas within the Intercontinental Exchange group, including in particular ICE Futures Europe and ICE Futures Abu Dhabi (recognised investment exchanges) and ICE Clear Europe Limited (a recognised clearing house and central counterparty). As well as driving projects, the Legal Department provides assistance to the Regulation and Compliance, Treasury, Membership, Finance, and product development teams.

Responsibilities

• To assist in the negotiation and/or drafting of contractual arrangements, licensing structures, exchange and clearing house rules
• To carry out regulatory analysis and research across a range of matters
• To participate in various projects, including product launches and development
• To assist with data protection/ privacy projects
• To support various departments in a UK and cross-jurisdictional context
• To bolster the team’s knowledge of legal developments and trends

Knowledge and Experience

• English qualified lawyer (NQ – 4PQE); the role is open to candidates qualified in a different jurisdiction
• Good attitude and keenness to learn and work with a variety of teams
• Experience and willingness to work and make decisions independently on routine legal matters
• Experience in regulation that specifically touches exchange trading and clearing like MiFID, EMIR and REMIT is desirable
• Experience in banking/finance/treasury and/or in the provision of regulatory advice is desirable
• Experience in the derivatives industry (including commodities and financial) and trading is desirable
• Experience of working in-house in a highly regulated environment is desirable
