Job summary

LHH Recruitment Solutions is partnering with a major national organisation undergoing transformation to recruit a commercially minded lawyer for a large in-house team delivering essential services across the UK.

You will provide broad legal advice, handling commercial contracts, procurement, regulatory matters, and governance while collaborating with stakeholders on strategic projects at an influential stage of the organisation’s journey.

Qualifications

  • UK qualified solicitor with 2+ years’ PQE and in-house or regulated industry experience welcomed but not essential.
  • Experience drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial agreements.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to simplify complex issues.

Responsibilities

  • Provide legal advice across a broad range of matters to support operational and strategic decisions.
  • Draft, review and negotiate commercial agreements and supplier arrangements.
  • Support procurement matters and regulatory/compliance issues.
  • Contribute to corporate governance and risk management.
  • Partner with stakeholders to deliver strategic business projects and act as a trusted adviser.

This is a rare opportunity for a commercially minded lawyer to join a large, well-respected in-house legal team supporting businesses that deliver essential services to millions of people across the UK every year. With major organisational change underway and an ambitious future vision, you will be joining at an exciting and influential point in the organisation's journey.

The Opportunity

Reporting into senior members of the legal team, you will provide legal advice across a broad range of matters, supporting operational and strategic decision-making within a complex, highly regulated environment.

This role offers genuine variety and the chance to build a well-rounded in-house skillset, with exposure to:

  • Commercial contracts and supplier arrangements
  • Procurement matters
  • Regulatory and compliance issues
  • Corporate governance and risk management
  • Strategic business projects

You’ll partner with stakeholders across the organisation, developing into a trusted adviser while working alongside experienced lawyers within a collaborative and supportive legal function.

About You

A UK qualified solicitor with 2+ years’ PQE, although applications from candidates outside this range will be welcomed where relevant experience can be demonstrated.

You will ideally have:

  • Experience drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial agreements
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • The ability to communicate complex legal issues clearly and pragmaticallyStrong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
  • A collaborative and commercially focused approach

Previous in-house or regulated industry experience would be advantageous but is by no means essential.
