About the Role

As a Part-Time Legal Cashier, you'll be working alongside experienced colleagues and you'll play a vital role in maintaining the firm's financial operations and ensuring strict adherence to regulatory requirements. The position offers the perfect work-life balance whilst providing meaningful contribution to a respected legal practice that values innovation and client service excellence.

Legal Cashier Responsibilities

  • 21 hours per week across flexible days with Monday inclusion essential
  • Collaborate with the finance team to execute daily cashier operations whilst ensuring complete SRA Accounts Rules compliance
  • Manage comprehensive client transaction processing, invoice generation, and diplomatic debt recovery procedures
  • Conduct thorough bank reconciliations, maintain accurate bookkeeping records, and oversee client and office ledger systems
  • Generate daily operational reports, contribute to monthly financial statements, and assist with period-end procedures
  • Prepare and submit VAT returns whilst liaising professionally with fee earners, clients, auditors, and regulatory authorities
  • Maintain vigilant compliance monitoring and report any suspected regulatory breaches through established protocols

Legal Cashier Requirements

  • Essential previous experience as a Legal Cashier within a legal practice environment
  • Comprehensive understanding of SRA Accounts Rules and associated regulatory framework
  • Exceptional attention to detail with proven accuracy in financial data management
  • Proficiency with legal accounting software systems and platforms
  • Strong interpersonal capabilities with confidence engaging across all organisational levels
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication abilities
  • Excellent organisational skills with demonstrated team collaboration experience
  • Professional handling of confidential information with complete discretion
