TSR Legal are proud to be working with a well-established and expanding law firm with multiple offices across the South West, who are now seeking a Legal Cashier to join their growing finance team based in Taunton.
About the Role
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a traditional yet forward-thinking legal practice during an exciting period of growth. As a Legal Cashier, you will play a key role in the day-to-day running of the finance function, ensuring full compliance with SRA Accounts Rules and maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records.
You will work closely with the Accounting Manager and support wider financial operations across multiple offices. This is a hands-on role offering variety and responsibility.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Processing client and office transactions, including bank transfers and receipts
  • Performing daily and monthly bank reconciliations
  • Raising client invoices and managing overdue payment follow-ups
  • Maintaining accurate client and office ledgers
  • Identifying and reporting any potential breaches or irregularities
  • Supporting the month-end and year-end financial processes
  • Preparing VAT returns and submitting them through the appropriate online portals
  • Liaising with fee earners, support staff, auditors, clients, banks, and regulatory bodies
  • Assisting with administrative tasks within the finance team where required

About You:
The ideal candidate will have prior experience working as a Legal Cashier within a law firm and demonstrate a strong understanding of SRA Accounts Rules. You'll also have:

  • Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • A proactive and team-oriented approach
  • Confidence using legal accounting software
  • The ability to handle confidential information with discretion
