Legal Cashier Opportunity at a Modern Law Firm

Trial Balance Consulting is pleased to partner with a reputable, fast-growing, and modern law firm seeking an experienced Legal Cashier to join their sizeable finance team.

Note: Previous experience within a law firm or knowledge of Solicitors Accounts Rules is desirable but not mandatory for applicants.

Reporting to the experienced and friendly Director of Finance, the successful candidate will be a key member of the firm's accounting department. The role involves regular liaising with partners, colleagues, clients, suppliers, and external stakeholders. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Legal Cashier looking to join a larger firm or an Assistant Accountant seeking to gain experience in a modern professional services environment. Key responsibilities include:

1. Administer online banking transactions with documentation and record transactions using accounting software
2. Process BACS, CHAPS, and transfers in multiple currencies
3. Perform daily reconciliations on multiple accounts, including client accounts
4. Record accounts payable and receivable transactions, including card payments
5. Amend and create standing orders
6. Maintain and improve accounting systems and processes
7. Manage general accounting functions such as sales and purchase ledgers, credit control, management accounts, variance reports, and bank reconciliations
8. Handle statutory reporting, including VAT, corporate tax, and payroll data
9. Present financial summaries to senior management
10. Assist with annual audit preparations
