Job description

Are you ready to take your legal support career to the next level? Our client is looking for a Legal Assistant to join their thriving Conveyancing Department. The ideal candidate will have a proactive mindset, an eye for detail, and a passion for delivering exceptional client service.

In this role, you will play a pivotal part in enabling lawyers to focus on complex legal work by providing vital administrative and legal support. This is an opportunity to be part of a collaborative team in a progressive law firm that values its culture, client service, and people-first ethos.

What You'll Be Doing
  1. Handling day-to-day client matters with professionalism and care
  2. Preparing legal documents and correspondence accurately and efficiently
  3. Typing, filing, opening files, and maintaining records
  4. Ordering Searches and Land Registry documents
  5. Screening calls, managing mail and emails, and prioritizing tasks
  6. Preparing files for billing and assisting with reception duties when needed
  7. Providing friendly, responsive service in line with LEXCEL standards
  8. Ensuring compliance with Solicitors Accounts Rules and Law Society requirements
  9. Supporting client and third-party liaison to facilitate smooth transactions
Essential Skills and Experience
  • Previous experience in a legal environment
  • Calm, polite, and focused under pressure
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Collaborative approach with strong relationship-building skills
  • High attention to detail and quality standards
  • IT proficiency, especially with Microsoft Office and legal systems
  • Flexible, professional, and solutions-oriented attitude
Desirable
  • Knowledge or background in conveyancing
  • Experience working in a fast-paced conveyancing team
