Clinical Negligence Legal Assistant, Bath

This long-standing client is seeking a Legal Assistant to join their Clinical Negligence team in Bath. As a Legal Assistant, you will provide administrative support to enable the team to function effectively. The role involves working in the clinical and dental negligence departments in Bath, with an expectation to be in the office 2–3 days per week.

Responsibilities include:
  • Managing administrative workload under fee earners' guidance
  • Providing support such as file opening, telephone management, document production, filing, email management, and dealing with post
  • Drafting documents and bills using templates
  • Assisting with legal processes like case processing, documentation, court liaising, and funding arrangements
  • Preparing costs letters and assisting with legal aid applications
  • Obtaining medical records and preparing electronic bundles
  • Communicating with clients via telephone, email, letter, and face-to-face
Requirements:

Previous experience in legal support or administrative roles, preferably within a law firm, with excellent organizational skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant IT platforms, strong written communication, and understanding of client relationship management are essential. Ability to undertake basic legal work under supervision and use initiative is also required.
