Job description

In 2021, Seedrs joined forces with Republic to accelerate their shared mission to democratise access to investing, capital raising, and community building. Seedrs has now evolved to Republic Europe and it operates the European arm of Republic’s global ecosystem – a collection of optimized financial services built that includes a Digital Merchant Bank, a Global Equities Marketplace and a Capitalization Team.

We are looking for a Legal and Investment Associate to join our team.

What you'll do:

• Take ownership of our UK pipeline of deals and play a key part in taking startups through our funding process, from pre-launch to closing after successful campaigns
• Negotiate bespoke equity documentation for startups raising investment through Republic Europe including shareholder and subscription agreements, articles of association and convertible loan agreements, to align with Republic Europe’s minimum investment terms
• Support our Investment and Sales teams with commercial and legal queries on startups looking to raise investment through Republic Europe
• Liaise with entrepreneurs and their legal counsel on a daily basis
• Develop an understanding of everything related to fundraising via Republic Europe, including traditional equity crowdfunding, Web3 tokenisation products and the regulatory framework in which we operate
  
  

What we're looking for:

• A qualified lawyer, ideally with at least 2 years PQE and previous venture capital or corporate transactional experience, who is commercial and comfortable working across jurisdictions (instructing local counsel where required)
• A genuine passion for entrepreneurship, innovation and Web3
• A solid understanding of the early investment space
• Self-starter who can think analytically and is not afraid to come up with pragmatic solutions to everything from deal structuring to improving efficiencies in existing operational processes
• Strong organisational and time management skills are essential
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills – this role requires strong account management skills and the ability to build rapport and explain complex legal concepts in a clear and concise manner
