Job summary

Wellspring Academy Trust is seeking casual cleaning staff to support classrooms, offices and washrooms across our academies in Barnsley and Leeds. No prior experience required; full training provided. You will join a friendly team, work on-site, and contribute to a clean, safe environment for pupils and staff. Interviews are virtual with an emphasis on reliability and teamwork.

Closing date is Sunday 4th October 2026; enhanced safeguarding checks apply.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out everyday cleaning duties such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting and emptying bins.
• Sanitising washrooms and keeping hygiene supplies fully stocked.
• Using cleaning equipment and products safely and following Health & Safety guidelines.
• Carrying out occasional deep cleans during school holidays.
• Helping lock or unlock the site and keep the school premises secure.

Location: The advert will show a location of Digital Media Centre, County Way, Barnsley, S70 2JW, as this is where our head office is based, the casual roles are based across our Academies located in Leeds including postcodes LS9, LS10, LS13, LS14, LS16 and LS20 (see attached map for locations)

What You’ll Be Doing

Working as part of a friendly team, you will keep classrooms, offices and washrooms fresh and tidy.

• Carrying out everyday cleaning duties such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting and emptying bins.

• Using cleaning equipment and products safely (we will teach you all the Health & Safety and COSHH guidelines).

• Carrying out occasional deep cleans during school holiday periods.

• Helping lock or unlock the site and keeping the school premises secure.
