Job summary

Wellspring Academy Trust is seeking a Site Operative to help maintain a safe and secure school environment at Elements Primary School, Acre Mount, Middleton, Leeds.

Working 15 hours per week over Thursday and Friday, 7am–7pm, you will carry out security, cleaning, basic repairs, grounds maintenance, moving furniture, and monitoring health and safety. The role is temporary until 31 August 2027.

Responsibilities

• Take responsibility for the security and safety of buildings and grounds.
• Keep the site clean, tidy and free from litter, debris and leaves.
• Carry out minor repairs and maintenance across the school.
• Support with grounds maintenance, including clearing waste and maintaining outdoor areas.
• Move furniture and equipment as required.
• Take a proactive approach to identifying maintenance issues and reporting concerns.
• Carry out internal and external decorating.
• Operate hand tools, power tools and site machinery.
• Assist with emergencies, site enquiries and winter maintenance such as gritting paths.
• Conduct daily site checks to keep all areas safe for pupils and staff.
• Work in line with Trust policies, including safeguarding, Health & Safety, data protection and safer working practices.
• This role will be working 15 hours per week over 2 days Thursday and Friday between 7am and 7pm, 52 weeks per year. This role is temporary until the 31st August 2027.
