Job summary

Canada Life UK is recruiting a Financial Reporting and Change Manager to own ledger integrity, accounting architecture and the implementation of complex accounting requirements. You will ensure accurate general ledger postings, maintain robust control frameworks and drive improvements across finance data and reporting.

The role bridges commercial activity, technical accounting standards and operational finance delivery, leading a small team and influencing stakeholders across Finance, Actuarial,

Qualifications

• Significant experience in Financial Accounting, Technical Accounting, Financial Control or Ledger Accounting environments.
• Experience operating within complex finance architectures involving multiple source systems and data feeds.
• Experience producing technical accounting papers and obtaining audit or governance approval.
• Experience implementing accounting change through finance systems and operational processes.
• Experience managing accounting teams and leading cross-functional initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Own the operational integrity of the general ledger and accounting infrastructure.
• Ensure postings, journals and ledger movements are complete, accurate and supported.
• Maintain oversight of end-to-end accounting flows from source systems to reporting.
• Establish and maintain robust controls over ledger postings and period-end activities.
• Drive improvements in ledger governance, control effectiveness and transparency.
• Lead accounting governance components including Chart of Accounts, Units of Account and Financial Dimensions.
• Define and implement accounting rules and mapping logic across finance systems.
• Lead the operational implementation of accounting policy and reporting changes.
• Collaborate with Technology, Data, Actuarial and Change teams to reflect requirements in systems.
• Develop sustainable solutions to improve reliability of financial information.
