Job summary

Alecto Recruitment Limited is seeking an experienced LED / Digital Signage Field Service Technician to cover Birmingham and the Midlands. The role includes reactive and planned maintenance across digital signage, LED displays, video walls and commercial displays.

You will fault-find and repair on-site, often working independently to restore equipment quickly. The position offers a company van, tools, uniform and full training, with overtime opportunities.

Qualifications

• Experience diagnosing and resolving technical faults.
• Experience working with display, AV or computer hardware/software.
• A good understanding of networks and basic IT.
• Basic electrical knowledge and confidence around electrical equipment.
• Confidence working at height and following safety procedures.
• Ability to work independently and take initiative.

Responsibilities

• Reactive and planned maintenance of digital signage, LED displays, video walls and standalone commercial displays, both indoor and outdoor.
• Diagnosing faults and carrying out on-site repairs.
• Working with display hardware, AV equipment, basic electrical systems, networks and computer hardware/software.
• Taking a first-time-fix approach wherever possible.
• Working independently across Birmingham and the Midlands.
• Managing tools and spare parts held within your company vehicle.
• Safely operating access equipment and tools.
• Managing work permits, security passes and customer site requirements.
• Providing clear reports and photographs following site visits.
• Maintaining high standards of Health & Safety and site housekeeping.
• Building strong relationships with the wider technical and service teams.

LED / Digital Signage Field Service Technician

Birmingham & Midlands

£35,000 - £38,000 + Overtime + Company Van

We are looking for an experienced Field Service Technician to cover Birmingham and the wider Midlands, carrying out reactive and planned maintenance across a range of digital signage, LED displays, video walls and commercial display systems.

This is a field-based position suited to someone with a strong technical mindset who enjoys fault-finding, working independently and getting equipment back up and running at the first opportunity.

You’ll be provided with a company van, tools, uniform and full training, with overtime opportunities available.

The Role

• Reactive and planned maintenance of digital signage, LED displays, video walls and standalone commercial displays, both indoor and outdoor
• Diagnosing faults and carrying out effective on-site repairs
• Working with display hardware, AV equipment, basic electrical systems, networks and computer hardware/software
• Taking a first-time-fix approach wherever possible
• Working independently across Birmingham and the Midlands
• Managing tools and spare parts held within your company vehicle
• Safely operating access equipment and tools
• Managing work permits, security passes and individual customer site requirements
• Providing clear reports and photographs following site visits

What the Clien is Looking For

Ideally, you’ll have previous experience within digital signage, LED, AV, telecoms, electrical/electronic maintenance or a similar field-service environment.

• Experience diagnosing and resolving technical faults
• Experience working with display, AV or computer hardware/software
• A good understanding of networks and basic IT
• Basic electrical knowledge and confidence working around electrical equipment
• Confidence working at height, including ladders and podiums
• A practical, hands‑on approach to fault‑finding
• The ability to work independently and use your own initiative
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• A full UK driving licence
• Flexibility to travel across the Midlands, including occasional longer-distance travelIPAF certification would be advantageous, although relevant training can be provided.
• Experience within digital out-of-home advertising (DOOH), signage or telecommunications would also be particularly useful.

Working Hours

Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5:30pm

There will be occasional out-of-hours work for scheduled maintenance, with overtime opportunities available.

The position is primarily field-based across Birmingham and the Midlands. Our offices are based in Kent, so occasional travel to the office for meetings or training may be required.
