Alecto Recruitment Limited is seeking an experienced LED/Digital Signage Field Service Technician to cover Chesterfield and surrounding areas, with travel across the Midlands. The role involves reactive and planned maintenance, fault-finding, and on-site repairs to keep displays running.

You will work with AV hardware, networks, and basic IT, using a company van and full training. Monday–Friday, with overtime opportunities and a focus on safety and reliability.

Qualifications

• Experience with digital signage, LED, AV or related field-service environments.
• Ability to diagnose and resolve technical faults on display hardware and related systems.
• Good understanding of networks and basic IT concepts.
• Practical, hands-on fault-finding ability and safe working practices.

Responsibilities

• Reactive and planned maintenance of digital signage, LED displays, video walls and standalone displays, indoors and outdoors.
• Diagnose faults and carry out on-site repairs to restore operation at first visit where possible.
• Work with display hardware, AV equipment, basic electrical systems and computer hardware/software.
• Take a first-time-fix approach and manage tools/spare parts in the company vehicle.
• Maintain health and safety standards and clear site reports and photos after visits.

LED / Digital Signage Field Service Technician

Chesterfield and surrounding areas

£32,000 - £35,000 + Overtime + Company Van

We are looking for an experienced Field Service Technician to cover Chesterfield and the surrounding areas, carrying out reactive and planned maintenance across a range of digital signage, LED displays, video walls and commercial display systems.

This is a field-based position suited to someone with a strong technical mindset who enjoys fault-finding, working independently and getting equipment back up and running at the first opportunity.

You’ll be provided with a company van, tools, uniform and full training, with overtime opportunities available.

The Role

• Reactive and planned maintenance of digital signage, LED displays, video walls and standalone commercial displays, both indoor and outdoor
• Diagnosing faults and carrying out effective on-site repairs
• Working with display hardware, AV equipment, basic electrical systems, networks and computer hardware/software
• Taking a first-time-fix approach wherever possible
• Working independently across Birmingham and the Midlands
• Managing tools and spare parts held within your company vehicle
• Safely operating access equipment and tools
• Managing work permits, security passes and individual customer site requirements
• Providing clear reports and photographs following site visits
• Maintaining high standards of Health & Safety and site housekeeping
• Building strong relationships with the wider technical and service teams

What the Client is Looking For

• Ideally, you’ll have previous experience within digital signage, LED, AV, telecoms, electrical/electronic maintenance or a similar field-service environment.
• Experience diagnosing and resolving technical faults
• Experience working with display, AV or computer hardware/software
• A good understanding of networks and basic IT
• Basic electrical knowledge and confidence working around electrical equipment
• Confidence working at height, including ladders and podiums
• A practical, hands‑on approach to fault‑finding
• The ability to work independently and use your own initiative
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• A full UK driving licence
• Flexibility to travel across the Midlands, including occasional longer-distance travel
• IPAF certification would be advantageous, although relevant training can be provided.
• Experience within digital out-of-home advertising (DOOH), signage or telecommunications would also be particularly useful.

Working Hours

Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5:30pm

There will be occasional out‑of‑hours work for scheduled maintenance, with overtime opportunities available.

The position is primarily field-based across Chesterfield and the surrounding areas. Our offices are based in Kent, so occasional travel to the office for meetings or training may be required.
