Job summary

Coventry University Group is inviting applications for a Lecturer (Teaching) in Physiotherapy within the AHP Physiotherapy team. The role focuses on teaching and coordinating courses across pre-registration routes, including apprenticeships, undergraduate and postgraduate programs.

You will work with CUHC colleagues to deliver high-quality teaching, ensure research and professional learning are embedded, and contribute to curriculum development with external partners.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in appropriate subject or Honours Degree with appropriate professional qualification and/or membership.
• Current registration with HCPC as Physiotherapist
• A teaching qualification or acceptance of the requirement to acquire one
• Experience delivering physiotherapy education (professional/university/apprenticeship)
• PhD
• Active membership of appropriate professional body (The Chartered Society of Physiotherapy)

Responsibilities

• Lead the curation, adaptation, design and development of module(s) and course teaching materials and contributing to ongoing curriculum development including practice-based learning.
• Leading moderation and quality assurance of appropriate module assessment.
• Teaching on modules and courses at HE levels 4-7 and our Level 6 physiotherapist apprenticeship, and leading teams of teaching staff.
• Contributing to the effective delivery and quality assurance of BSc and MSc provision.
• Liaison with external stakeholders as required, including employers and practice partners

Competitive starting salary range from £39,324 up to £44,710 (dependent on experience) with the potential to progress. A discretionary range for candidates with exceptional experience can be discussed/considered.

The Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our thoughtful and dedicated physiotherapy team as a Lecturer (Teaching). Our well-established pre-registration courses, delivered across different campus sites, offer a range of routes into the profession including direct entry and apprenticeships; undergraduate and postgraduate. Our focus is on developing reflective, compassionate, and highly skilled physiotherapists, whilst fostering excellence, innovation, and leadership in physiotherapy education and training.

As Lecturer (Teaching) in Physiotherapy you will undertake teaching and course co‑ordination with a focus on further developing new and innovative academic practice and learning opportunities working in collaboration with our partners. You will work as part of the course team supporting the development and delivery of undergraduate, postgraduate, and professional programs including apprenticeship routes ensuring learners have an effective learning experience.

Based within the AHP Physiotherapy you will work with academic colleagues across CUHC to enrich learning and teaching experience to ensure relevant aspects of research, enterprise and professional context are embedded in modules and courses.

Our Successful Candidate

You will bring substantial clinical experience and specialist expertise in neuro physiotherapy and neurological rehabilitation or cardiorespiratory physiotherapy, enabling you to deliver high‑quality teaching and mentorship.

You will have demonstrable experience of successful teaching and learning at higher education levels 4-7 in Physiotherapy either in higher education or within a clinical environment.

You can demonstrate high standards of teaching, learning and student engagement consistent with our reputation and track record as a high-quality provider of teaching and learning.

You will have experience of supporting learning within your role and of providing high quality academic and pastoral support to students and/or professionals.

You will be enthusiastic and self‑motivated, experienced in supporting, enhancing and engaging in an ‘active learning’ pedagogy with evidence in proactively supporting student success.

As a global education provider, you will hold experience and awareness of learner’s cultural differences and expectations with the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of people from diverse backgrounds.
