About Us

About The Role
The post holder will contribute to teaching at undergraduate level and will teach approximately 320 contact hours per year. They will primarily teach Italian language but will also be expected to contribute to other modules and to BA and MA dissertation supervision within Italian Studies and programmes across SELCS-CMII, according to their expertise and the needs of the programme, and as directed by the Programme Director of Italian Studies and the Head of Department of SELCS-CMII. The post holder will be expected to participate in departmental events and contribute to the intellectual life of the department. They are entitled to devote 15 per cent of their working hours to scholarship and/or research, and will be welcome to participate in our Research Clusters, research seminar series, public engagement initiatives, and other events and projects. About You
We are particularly interested in applications from candidates specialising in translation, multimedia and digital technologies in language pedagogy. The post holder will set and mark assignments and exams as required, participate in oral exams as necessary and update the Moodle language-learning facilities for the modules they teach. They will engage in a range of knowledge transfer and/or public engagement activities. They will contribute to negotiating partnerships and relationships with national and international partners. The successful candidate will engage in scholarship and keep abreast of relevant scholarly and pedagogical developments, to ensure own Continuing Professional Development and development of teaching design and delivery. They will actively follow UCL policies, including Equal Opportunities, and carry out any other duties commensurate with the grade and purpose of the post as may be reasonably required by the Programme Director of Italian and Head of SELCS.
